The plot
Güéjar Sierra is a small town in the province of Andalusia, set at 1,300 m above sea level on the southern slope of the mountain.
The 8,750 m² plot opens onto views of Spain’s four highest mountain peaks. It lies far from permanent settlements and light sources, giving ideal conditions for stargazing – confirmed by certification from the STARLIGHT Foundation.
The plot itself has a cascading terrain, made up of several broad terraces of varying size. Olive and almond groves grow between them, accompanied by cherries, walnuts, pomegranates, persimmons (caqui), blackberries, apples, plums, quinces and many species of herbs. On the plot lies the Fuente de Los Morales spring, whose water is crystal-clear and remarkable in both taste and health properties.
The surroundings
The location puts almost every sport within easy reach. The Sierra Nevada ski resort is just 20 kilometres away, offering two gondolas, a network of chairlifts, 110 kilometres of downhill runs and dozens of kilometres of ski-touring routes. Outside the winter season the resort offers hundreds of kilometres of hiking and cycling trails, including Europe’s highest paved road – the A395 leading to the Veleta summit – as well as lifts and downhill tracks. The network of endless walking and cycling routes with breathtaking views keeps expanding, alongside dozens of other recreational and sporting activities. Climbing, paragliding, triathlon, and water and underwater activities are just some of the possibilities. Sierra Nevada is also home to an astronomical observatory equipped with a radio telescope.
The Costa Tropical region
The Costa Tropical region records 320 sunny days a year, guaranteeing ideal conditions for a holiday throughout the season. At the foot of the town lies a fairy-tale turquoise reservoir, and thermal springs with healing properties can be found nearby.
Getting there
The nearest beaches on the Alboran Sea are 80 kilometres away by motorway, passing a windsurfing centre and school along the way.
